>
design of a system for delivering specialty
medical services
Situation: Major teaching hospitals affiliated
with a large health care system needed to develop a cost and treatment
effective delivery system for services to patients with addictions
and related diseases. The system had to be flexible enough to incorporate
a growing number of HMO contracts and comprehensive enough to include
services delivered in the hospitals and in their affiliated community
health centers.
Result: Cambridge Hill’s work help lead a
decision to integrate addiction services across the health care
system including the major teaching hospitals, a psychiatric hospital
and a rehabilitation hospital. Working with a multi-institutional
task force, Cambridge Hill Partners facilitated a planning process
to develop an integrated system within this highly decentralized
health care system.
