Vanessa Avery-Wall is both an associate of Cambridge Hill Partners, and the founding director of VAST Consultants, an independent religious diversity education and training group.

Vanessa’s niche as a consultant lies in both her expertise in religious diversity, as well as in her approach to conflict resolution and cultural competence. Grounded in ontology (the study of being), Vanessa’s training method breaks down cultural conflict to its bare bones— listening and communication patterns—working at the grassroots level on how human beings relate to each other. Her sessions result in skilled management of diversity issues, effective leveraging of diversity in the workplace, as well as profound new understandings of the commonalities that exist beneath the diversity. She also helps managers and healthcare providers with issues particular to religious diversity, including advisory, best practices, accommodation, and policy writing.

Vanessa holds graduate degrees from Yale University and King’s College London, and is currently pursuing a doctorate at Hartford Seminary. She is the author of Religious Diversity: A Practical Guide for Corporate Managers & Healthcare Providers.
